If you don’t check in, your contacts are notified in the app. Alerts can also be sent via WhatsApp, Telegram, or email, and can include your last known location and health information, so your contacts know when to act and how to help.

What happens if I miss a check-in?
It depends on your plan. With the Free plan, your connections see a missed check-in in their Alma feed and can reach out. With Alma Safety Net (€3.99/month), your emergency contacts are notified immediately via WhatsApp, Telegram, email, or the app, even if they do not use Alma.
Do my emergency contacts need the app?
No. Emergency contacts can receive alerts via WhatsApp, Telegram, or email without installing anything. If they want to see your updates, they can join Alma using the free version.
What if my phone is off or has no signal?
Alma uses cloud-based monitoring. Your check-in schedule is stored securely, so the system detects a missed check-in even if your phone is off, out of battery, or has no signal.
Can I set up Alma for a parent or grandparent?
Yes. You can configure check-in times, emergency contacts, and Simple Mode with one large button remotely from your phone. They only need to confirm they are okay once a day.
Does Alma track my location all the time?
No. Alma does not use continuous tracking. If you enable location sharing in Safety Net, only your last known location is stored and shared with your contacts if you miss a check-in.
Why is there a 30-connection limit?
Alma is designed for close connections, not large networks. Limiting it to 30 people keeps your feed personal and relevant.
Is my data safe?
Yes. All data is encrypted with AES-256, stored in Germany, and handled in compliance with GDPR. Alma does not show ads and does not sell your data.
How do I cancel?
You can start with a 14-day free trial of Safety Net. You can cancel anytime through the App Store or Google Play. You will keep access to the free version.
Check in once a day. If you miss it, your contacts are notified.
